Russell continues expansion of Implementation Services in Australasia

Appointment supports Russell's plan to add securities trading operation in Asian time zone (Sydney) in the next six months

Sydney, 10 September, 2007 – Global investment and superannuation specialist, Russell Investment Group, today announced the institutional sales team's appointment of senior business development specialist Campbell MacPherson to promote the firm's implementation service capabilities. The announcement consolidates recent additions to the Sydney based team.

Russell's institutional business provides services to superannuation funds and other wholesale investors, including access to the Russell SuperSolution Master Trust, plus Russell’s implemented consulting services, access to specialised sector funds including alternative assets, Russell Implementation Services, actuarial and benefits consulting, and advisory consulting.

Campbell MacPherson has been appointed Senior Business Development Manager, reporting to John Moore. Campbell is responsible for promoting Russell’s implementation services, including transition management, cash management and overlay services, and currency implementation to institutional investors across Australia and New Zealand. He recently joined the team from the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) where he was responsible for building ASX’s European distribution business. Campbell has eighteen years experience in the financial markets in a variety of sales, trading and marketing roles.

Mr John Moore, Director, Implementation Services, Australasia, said, "Campbell's appointment signifies Russell's strong commitment to growing the firm's Implementation Services in Australasia and builds on the ongoing success of Russell's transition management services. This appointment is in just one of several areas where we are looking to expand or localise, including portfolio management and trading, within the next six to twelve months," Moore said.

Transition management is one of a number of services offered by Russell to help clients improve their net investment returns by providing efficient implementation tools to multi-manager portfolios. Other services include overlay services, commission management, agency currency execution, returnenhancing derivatives strategies (such as portable alpha) and short term investment funds. Russell’s portfolio management and transition services teams operate worldwide with offices in Tacoma, London and Sydney.

Russell’s excellence in transition management has been recognised in the institutional investor community, with the firm having received more than 100 industry awards over the past three years -- including recent awards from two independent surveys by Plan Sponsor and Global Investor magazine.

For more than 25 years, Russell has been at the forefront of improving and innovating transition management practices and techniques, leading the development of the T Standard as an objective performance measurement to aid clients in assessing a transition manager’s performance. Russell continues to set the mark for delivering on T Standard-compliant investment performance of assets in transition.
