The Future Is Now: Australian Institutional Offshore Property Investment

Australian institutional investors have historically held significant portfolio allocations to property, with an overwhelming focus towards domestic property. However, supply constraints have begun to emerge in the local market.

Recognising this trend, Russell Investments has partnered with the Asian Association for Investors in non-listed Real Estate Vehicles Limited (ANREV) and the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees (AIST), to conduct research to identify and track the issues, concerns and opportunities facing investors as they consider offshore non-listed real estate investment.

The 2011 inaugural report is the culmination of a survey conducted with 39 institutions and superannuation funds representing AUD$360billion of funds under management¹. To be published every two years, this research will provide institutional property investors with an invaluable tracking tool and insights into the key issues which need to be addressed in order to enable them to meet their goals.
