FAQ's about internships at Russell Where are internships located? Most of our internships take place at the Russell headquarters in Tacoma, Washington, approximately 30 miles south of Seattle. Our offices are on A street, on the waterfront, with beautiful views of Mount Rainier. What is there to do in Tacoma? The greater Seattle-Tacoma area offers something for everyone. For just a taste of the experiences that draw people here, visit Life Outside of Work. When are internships held? How long do they last? We offer a select number of part-time internships year round. Our summer internship program is full time and runs for about 10 to 12 weeks, typically between June and August. While we encourage a minimum 10-week summer internship to help students gain all possible benefits, we are flexible about start and finish dates and do our best to accommodate personal schedules. I live outside of the Seattle-Tacoma area. How do I get there (and get around)? We provide round-trip travel reimbursement (including airfare and/or gas mileage) to all students who live outside of the vicinity and need to relocate for the internship. We also offer free bus passes for King and Pierce counties for the duration of the internship. Where will I stay? Russell partners with a number of organizations to help you find suitable housing for the summer. Visiting interns receive a monthly housing stipend and may choose to live independently or with roommates. We can put you in touch with incoming interns seeking roommates as well as our roommate finder service. Are internships paid? Absolutely. All interns earn compensation based on an hourly or salaried system, according to their qualifications. We are proud to offer a competitive compensation package. How do I apply for an internship? We welcome students who are interested in interning at Russell to submit a cover letter and resume through our current openings page. Who is eligible to intern at Russell? We look for the best and brightest students who share a passion for the investment and financial world. We also look for those who have respect for people, diversity and non-negotiable integrity. Our summer internship program is open to all candidates who are currently enrolled full time in an accredited four-year university or MBA program. Do I have to be a United States citizen to qualify for an internship? We will consider all qualified candidates regardless of citizenship or visa status. Each position is reviewed on a case by case basis. Can I intern at Russell even if I am not a finance major? A specific major is not required to become an intern. While we employ interns in all areas, including IT, finance, human resources and marketing, we are particularly interested in people with a passion for the financial services and investment world.
