A past winner of the prestigious Russell Leadership Award, Grant Gardner works with balanced fund portfolio managers to set asset allocations, select funds, and design new balanced fund products. He is a recognized expert on glide paths for target date retirement funds.
Previously, Grant was Russell's director of capital markets research. In this role, he planned and coordinated Russell's research in the areas of manager behavior, fund structure and financial economics.
Before joining Russell in 1993, Grant was a university professor with the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. While there, he conducted research and taught undergraduate, MBA and executive education courses in macroeconomics, international economics, international financial management, international business and corporate finance. From 1989 to 1993, Grant was with Southern Methodist University's Department of Economics as an associate professor.
Grant earned his doctorate in economics at Harvard University and completed undergraduate work in economics at Southern Methodist University.
