Russell Expands Alternative Investments Group
New Director to Benefit U.S. Institutional Clients

TACOMA, Wash. Russell Investment Group has hired Julia Cormier as director, alternative investments, for its U.S. institutional investor services. Based in Chicago, Cormier is responsible for advancing Russell's objectives in alternative investments providing its clients with exposure to private equity, real estate, hedge funds and other alternative assets and for further developing Russell's institutional investor relationships.
"Julia is a strong addition to our team, bringing her extensive experience as a specialist in alternative investments and a successful track record working closely with institutional clients," said Bill Borland, managing director, U.S. Institutional Investor Services. "Institutional investor commitment to alternative investments is poised to reach record levels by 2007, and Russell is expanding its resources to help its clients achieve the goals they have set for their alternative investment programs."
Cormier joins Russell after 10 years with Goldman Sachs in London, most recently as the alternative investment specialist in a relationship team focused on high net worth individuals and selected institutional investors. In addition to business development and client service, her role involved providing advice on asset allocation and risk management across traditional and alternative asset classes. Before Goldman, Cormier had worked for Northern Trust as a vice president in London and Chicago, handling a number of business development and management roles.
Cormier, who started at Russell in late October, reports to Peter Fink, director, relationship management, North America.
Russell researches alternative investment opportunities around the world to provide clients with a high-end, well-diversified approach to alternative investing. In September, Russell announced the findings of the seventh biennial survey on alternative investing, which includes research that gauges institutional investor participation in and expectations for alternative investments.
