Russell Hires New Head of Recruiting for Rapidly Growing Business

Tacoma, WA — August 28, 2006 — Russell Investment Group has created a new position to direct its growing recruiting needs as a result of the investment services firm's rapidly expanding business around the world. Jason Buss has been named director of recruiting, reporting to Ann Watson, managing director of human resources.

Buss joined Russell from Allianz Group, a global financial services and insurance firm, where he was director of talent acquisition. He previously worked as vice president of staffing and recruiting at CUNA Mutual Group.

Based in the company's headquarters, Buss will lead Russell's global recruiting strategies worldwide as it celebrates its 70th year in business in 2006. In this position he will oversee talent acquisition strategies and play a key role in meeting the organization's overall business goals.

This appointment is another signal of the significant growth at Russell as its assets have more than doubled in the past three years to $171 billion. Over the same time, the company has hired more than 700 professionals globally, to bring employment to about 2,000 in 20 offices around the world.
