Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications the key focus of this role will be accountable for the strategic and tactical marketing activity across the Institutional, Adviser and Individual channels as well as corporate marketing initiatives.
This position is designed to mentor and assist the specialist marketing managers in taking the business strategy and developing integrated marketing campaigns to support the business lines.
This role also works with senior management, key business unit leaders and other members of the company's marketing communications team to develop and execute an integrated marketing program.
Major responsibilities include:
- Serve as a 'marketing consultant' and key liaison with senior managers in the designated business units, bringing a value-added approach to marketing strategy and projects
- Develop and implement effective integrated marketing plans which serve the business units and corporate goals and drive revenue
- Identification, development, implementation and measurement of initiatives to increase growth and retention across the Russell business units
- Development and implementation of initiatives to measure the effectiveness of marketing and sales support
- Evaluation of marketing requirements to meet business objectives
- Works as a trouble shooting and problem solver to help resolve issues, problems or challenges involving the client or the marketing team
- Bring a holistic approach to marketing by taking into account all the elements of the marketing mix including brand, public relations, web services, advertising, events market research, and sales initiatives - when building campaigns
- When necessary assume some of the implementation work (so you will not be afraid to "get your hands dirty")
- Management and coordination of external agencies and other service providers, in order to extend the capabilities and reach of internal integrated marketing programs
Knowledge and attributes required:
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and implement comprehensive marketing and communication plans in line with business strategy
- Strong writing, editing and oral communications skills
- Public relations and/or agency experience
- Familiarity with print, video, web and other forms of communication and media production
- Project management and team leading skills
- Broad knowledge of the investment management industry, market trends and regulatory environment
- Strong relationship development skills with senior management
- Proven staff management and people skills
The position will require a highly results driven, innovative and tenacious senior marketer, with 7-10 years experience in marketing and communications and 3-5 years experience in the financial services industry. Exceptional stakeholder management skills and a strategic, yet hands-on approach are a must.
