Chris Corneil is managing director of Russell Investments in Australia & New Zealand. Based in Sydney, Chris is responsible for the strategic direction, products, services and operations of Russell’s business in the region. In this capacity Chris has stewardship of more than $A20 billion of funds under management and $A80 billion of funds under advice. He leads a team which delivers asset consulting advice, capital markets research, implementation services, funds management and alternative investments to some of Australia and New Zealand’s leading companies and financial planning groups. He also serves on Russell’s global management committee and is a director of Russell Investment Management, the legal entity that manages Russell’s multi-manager funds in Australia.
Prior to this role, Chris led Russell’s Investor Services business combining the institutional and retail businesses in Australia and New Zealand. Immediately prior to this, Chris was the head of Russell’s retail business. He originally joined Russell in 1998 at the commencement of the firm’s asset management business. He was a relationship manager for the strategic alliance between Russell and ANZ Fund Management working through multiple channels of the ANZ bank including retail, business and private banks.
Prior to joining Russell, Chris spent 10 years in a range of financial services roles with Prudential Assurance and Sealcorp.
Chris is originally a native of Canada and is an avid traveller with his wife and two young boys.
