Christophe Caspar

Christophe Caspar is chief investment officer for Russell Investments, based in Tokyo. Christophe directs Russell’s investment management and research activities in Japan. His responsibilities include the oversight of research of investment products focused in the region as well as the management of all of Russell’s Japanese equity and fixed income multi-manager portfolios globally.

Prior to moving to Tokyo, Christophe was based in London, where he led the Japan and Pacific Basin equity teams and had primary responsibility as portfolio manager for a number of Japanese equity and Pac Basin equity funds. In this role he oversaw all aspects of fund management, including design strategy, manager selection and fund construction.

He joined Russell as a portfolio analyst in April 1999, gaining expertise in analysing fund managers and portfolios in the aforementioned asset classes.

Prior to joining Russell, Christophe was with Flemings Asset Management for two and one-half years. Working through Flemings’ European Graduate Development programme, he was posted to Luxembourg, Germany and London in various capacities.  His last role was working with Flemings’ investment director and global strategist. 

Christophe began his career in finance as financial controller for the company Pernod-Ricard Austria through a French civil service posting. He was based in Austria from early 1995 to late 1996. 

In addition to his native French, Christophe is fluent in English and German.
