Greg Liddell is Director, Consulting and Advisory Services, Australasia for Russell Investments. He is responsible for the delivery of investment consulting services to Russell’s institutional clients and is a member of Russell’s Global Consulting Leadership group. Greg leads a team at Russell responsible for the delivery of advice which encompasses setting investment objectives, asset allocation, strategic asset tilting, alternative assets, risk management, manager selection and portfolio construction.
Prior to joining Russell in 2009, Greg was Director of Implemented Equities for QIC where he lead a team responsible for managing up to A$17 billion across a range of multi-manager equity strategies including Australian shares, global shares, global small capitalisation shares, global REITs and equity absolute return. At QIC Greg oversaw the implementation of a number of initiatives including risk monitoring, the separation of alpha and beta and the introduction of after-tax management and benchmarking.
Prior to joining QIC, Greg was Head of Manager Research for Australia and New Zealand with Mercer Investment Consulting. He was a member of Mercer’s International Rating Review committee which was responsible for determining manager ratings and driving the investment manager research program across Mercer’s global practice groups. Greg consulted to some of Australia’s largest institutional funds, particularly in the area of manager selection and portfolio construction. He was also Mercer’s representative on the AMP Future Directions Investment Committee.
Greg came to Russell with 22 years of experience in investment consulting and funds management. He has lectured for the Securities Institute of Australian (now Finsia) and spoken at numerous industry conferences.
