With close to 20 years of investment industry experience, Irshaad was named president and managing director of Russell's Canadian operations in 2006. Irshaad works closely with Russell's global executive committee to focus on leveraging Russell's worldwide resources, portfolio strategies and over 490 investment professionals with the goal of developing dynamic products and services for clients.

In addition to this, Irshaad continues to head Russell's institutional business, a position he has held since joining Russell in 2004

Prior to joining Russell, Irshaad held a senior leadership role in the investment consulting business of Mercer Canada. Over his extensive career, he has worked with clients on all aspects of pension and institutional investments, including development of investment policy, investment manager selection, and implementation issues ranging from currency hedging to rebalancing.

Irshaad is well-regarded in the investment industry as a leading conference speaker on Canadian pension issues, and is a frequent presenter at events for the Strategy Institute and Federated Press.

He has also written numerous articles on the fixed income market and hedge funds, some of which have been published in Benefits Canada and Canadian Investment Review.

Irshaad is involved in a number of charity organizations, including the United Way.
