 Randy Burge is director, Fixed Income for Russell's Investment Management Group, where he directs the investment content of the company's fixed income funds worldwide. As director, Randy works with Russell's fixed income portfolio managers to assess the investment integrity of portfolios, determine research priorities, evaluate the quality of portfolio management, and ensure consistent application of Russell's investment philosophy. In addition, Randy plays a role in assessing new product ideas and coordinating resources within the Investment Management Group. He was named to this role in January 2000.
Randy joined Frank Russell Company in 1985 as a client support representative with Russell's analytical services division. Randy was responsible for quality control on software products that were marketed to Russell clients.
He moved to fixed-income manager research in 1987, where he had primary manager research responsibility for many fixed-income styles, including structured, indexed, liability-matched, short-term, cash, and high-yield managers. He also coordinated the development of Russell's US Fixed Income Profile.
In 1990, Randy transferred to Frank Russell Australia for a period of five years, where he initially was responsible for manager research and was a client executive for several Australian clients. In mid-1992, he assumed day-to-day responsibility for a significant relationship between Frank Russell Australia and a major Australian financial institution, assisting in product development and investment strategy.
