 As the Managing Director, Alister focuses on the management and strategy of the New Zealand business. Alister joined Russell in 2006 as Consultant, then becoming Head of Consulting in 2008, where he assumed more managerial responsibilities. Alister leads a team which delivers asset consulting advice, implementation services and funds management to some of New Zealand's largest investors.
Prior to this Alister lived in the United Kingdom where he worked in various roles in the transition management industry. His client base consisted mainly of pension funds in the UK, Europe, Middle East and Australia.
Immediately prior to joining Russell, Alister was European Head of Transition Management at Deutsche Bank. Prior to that Alister worked at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers where he was a fund manager on the transition management team. He was responsible for dealing, stratetgy and risk management.
